Cracking Jacket
Having tried a few different softshells, both budget and more expensive, I was starting to get a bit worried that there just wasn't one out there for a sensible price with all the features I wanted. The Marmot Tempo is very lightweight, thin and breathable and works as a perfect outer layer for those days out on the bike where it's too cold just to wear a base layer and jersey, but too warm to need a "proper" waterproof jacket. It also works well as a mid layer on cooler days.

The fit is a teeny bit on the large side - the medium I have is on the larger size of a good fit, so if you can try one on then all the better - if you're between two sizes then I'd definitely go for the smaller. It's quite a stretchy material, and I guess for it to work well it needs to be a reasonably snug fit. It's cut perfectly for me - quite long in the body and arms, which is ideal for mountain biking.
