Lightweight thermal payer. Stylish, high quality
The Chakra Zip top is rated 200 in Icebreaker's range, which goes from 150 to 320. It's intended for more active use rather than ultimate protection against cold.
These products aren't cheap but they are excellent quality. The hi-tech use of wool means that you get a lot of warmth for very little bulk, so they work really well when layered with other clothes (or best of all, with outer layers from the Icebreaker range, although that can get expensive!).
Icebreaker products really are top knotch and I've been wearing my 260 Base Layer top all through the recent bitterly cold snap. It's a really good fit and so much more stylish than most thermals -- which means it's easy to peel of some top layers indoors without worrying that you're going to look like an insane granny in weird white woolies!
At first I was a little concerned that the wool would be itchy, but this simply isn't the case. The base layer is as comfortable next to the skin as cotton, but ten times warmer...

One of many Icebreaker items that I have. Excellent for keeping warm and also for keeping dry in cold weather whilst excercising. Recommended for athletes keeping warm and dry. Worth the extra investment. Washes well too.
