Berghaus make a range of rucksacks for the military, the most famous being the Vulcan and Munro. These bags have been around a long time and have built a reputation for been extremely tough, I have heard of them lasting people over 15 years!

In the past, Berghaus's military range has been a popular choice for english soldiers forced to buy their own equipment because the stuff the army supplies was crap. However, the Vulcan and Munro rucksacks are now getting on a bit and the Centurio is meant to be a modern update to the Munro.

Some of the improvements over the Munro are better padding on the back, Molle compatibility, hydration system compatibility and Berghaus's Multi Mission Pack System (MMPS) side pockets (although I have seen modified Munros that support side pockets as well).

Great no fuss mid sized day pack for walking and jogging. Great quality, simple,expandable and good price when compared to the next UK direct comparison. Good proportions for a day pack that will easily take tent and kit on the side straps. This is a worthy successor to a now tired Dart 40 that has been used as a walking pack, work bag and even child carrier. My boys loved taking a rest in the rucksack and the construction and quality easily met the challenge. I have no doubt the centurion 45 will do the same and give another decade or more hard usage. I would have liked the bag in black as I think this is a better colour for world travel but with an umbrella on the side this sack can look at home in the civvi environment. The lack of side compression straps is not an issue as the lid can be drawn down to compress the bag. I certainly don't tend to use it if not suitably full but this could be a problem to military user. Can't fault this at the price and Berghaus quality of...
